New Student Transition Program

2015-2016 School Year:

We are excited to announce that we now have the opportunity to be able to focus solely on 10th-12th grade & foreign exchange student transition. Link Crew, a 9th grade student transition class, will be taking the place of Coyote Connect for incoming 9th graders beginning next fall. At the suggestion of the Peer Support officers last year, our school became aware of Link Crew. Students in grades 10-12 generally have a more difficult time transitioning to a new school and require the sharp (undivided) attention of the Peer Support Program to help them feel as welcome and comfortable as possible. The addition of Link Crew allows Peer Support to have more time to focus on the 10th-12th grade students and build that area of our program to new heights. We would like to extend a warm welcome to Kirby Welsh who will be the adviser for Link Crew next year. We are confident that she and her team will continue to help the incoming 9th grade students feel comfortable and accepted at our school.

Here, at Calabasas High School, we are committed to assisting all students in finding his or her very own place on campus, as well as helping students in being able to enjoy all of the time they will spend here.  We want all of our students to blossom here on campus, as well as to develop the skills needed to create lasting friendships. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at calabasashighps@gmail.com.

New Students in Grades 10 - 12

Both at the beginning of the year and during the year, Calabasas High receives a multitude

of new students ranging from tenth to twelfth grade. We arrange a comforting environment

for these students to eat lunch during the first few days of school. Furthermore, we invite

the students back to check in on them and on their progress during the year. If a student

enrolls at Calabasas High School at a time other than at the beginning of the official school

year, we organize a tour of the campus for these particular students, as well as provide

our contact information for all follow-up questions along with a follow-up lunch.

Foreign Exchange

For all foreign exchange students, we offer a more in-depth program. We are privileged to be able to host students from all around the world and our mission is to provide them with an amazing and memorable experience in the United States. In order to do so, we plan fun activities inside and outside of school. Each month, Peer Support’s Student Transition team plans themed lunches for the foreign exchange students, all hand- crafted by Calabasas High School's very own Chef Allen and her culinary students. Furthermore, we  encourage and assist the exchange students in attending any and all events CHS has to offer, including dances, plays, and more.
